100 Words On…

The Oscars.

After the scandals and the horrors of Hollywood over the last few years it was good to see an Oscars that delivered all the joy and wonder of the movies it is meant to celebrate.

With nods to the high art of Cuaron’s “Roma” and the dizzying intelligence of “Into the Spider-Verse” it was an evening that managed to remind us why we love cinema so much.

The real highlight though was, and by now it is already a cliche, the splendour that is Olivia Colman.

From “Peep Show” to “The Favourite” she has remained, resolutely, only herself.
